Before the photo shoot

My photo shoots are laid-back and fun, even before they start:

We pick a location that suits your dog and offers the backdrop you want:  For this walkies photo session, we wanted lots of autumn colours and somewhere in the beautiful Surrey countryside. I think we fulfilled the brief.

I am here to answer any of your questions, even if it has to do with things like picking your or your dog’s outfit. Don’t hesitate to ask, whatever it is!

No help needed here of course, since sighthound owners tend to have all the kit, like elegant collars… I know, because as a borzoi owner, I have a wardrobe full of them.

Then you bring your dogs and we take photos together.

Full disclosure: these two have met me before.

That’s why upon meeting, I was very pleased that they treated me with the legendary sighthound aloofness that indicates they remember me. To the non-hound-literate: they ignored me.

Not every walkies photo shoot have to include off-lead zoomies. Hound owners know not to be fooled by their dogs: they are not at all too majestic to commit “wildlife crime”. So keeping a lead on is usually the best option. It means more editing for me, but that’s all part of the job.

Despite this being an on lead photo session, I had to run to outpace the pretty floofs with insanly long gait (compared to mine at least). I managed to get in front of them again and again. And if I photograph more sighthounds, I will be able to cancel my gym membership.

We got sooo many photos of these beautiful hounds in the autmn woodland, that I cannot show them all here. My website would crash!

So I have restricted myself to just my very veeerrry favourite photos of this photo session. But here is another one… sorry, can’t help that I have the prettiest clients!

After the photo shoot

And despite trying to outrun hounds, carrying tons of gear, rolling on the floor to get the best angle, that’s the fun bit of the job.

I don’t want to say “the hard bit” or worse “the boring part” because it’s not that. It is just less fun than the photo shoot itself. But I get to look at the photos of your beautiful dogs and make them perfect. Awwwing over your dogs certainly is not a bad day at the office at all!

So while you wait to receive the link to your password protected gallery, I am working away in the background, removing dog poo bins, or in this case: leashes, slobber from your trousers, unwanted shadows.

Once I am happy that your photos are the best they can be, I will put them into a password proteted gallery and send them over to you. Now it’s your turn to oooh and aww over your dogs’ photos.

Are all my walkies dog photo shoots in Surrey?

No. And neither do they have to be.

I am based in Guildford, and since it is so pretty around this part of Surrey, many of my clients like to have their photo shoot here.

But we can have your photo shoot somehwere else! In my gallery you will find photos taken in Hampshire, Sussex, and even Cornwall. If you have a location already in mind, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
